Today we started with a Wilson game.  It was called Hula Hoop Amoeba, but a variation of the first time we played it.  This time it had two hoops and we had to get in and out of the first one safely, if we made a boo boo after that we could go back to the first hoop rather than back to the beginning.    Then we did a student voice survey which was about the things that we like and don't like about Enrich.  One thing I didn't like is that Alana will be moving to Australia at the end of the year.  She is going there to live.  I worked on my groups Environment project.  We painted the background for the mural we are painting.  Samantha and I painted the blue, and Emma and Rhea painted some white over it so that it looked a very light blue.  Then we had morning tea.  After morning tea we played chess and then did some thinkers keys.  My group did started with Alana and we did the variations key.  Then we went to Katie and we did the ridiculous key.  Then we had lunch!

About Enrich.

Hello! Today I was at Enrich.  We started off with "2 Greens, 2 Oranges and a Ball" game.  It was our Wilson game.  We were the only class that completed it for the whole week.  We were very excited about that!  This Wilson game was very similar to Picaddily Circus.  Next we did Passion Time.  I did a stone carving.  I think my wee alligator head is coming along nicely and will be finished soon.  Then we had morning tea.

After morning tea we had chess.  I played against Liam W and I won! No-one moved on the leader board though because I was already above him.

I am going to go to Alana's Affective Domain 

workshop this afternoon.

Now, today, Friday.

Whats up? This week, we started doing must dos and picks...Again. Now for todays story.We started with a Wilson game called "All or nothing".  You play like this: There are three teams and three baskets.  Each team has four hoops and a basket in the front hoop.  If you get a bean bag in the basket, you move the basket up to the next hoop.  The person who got the bean bag in the hoop must throw the bean bag back to the person who was behind them and if they catch it, you keep the basket there in that hoop.  If the person behind you lets it drop on the ground, the basket has to go back to the starting hoop.

This is all to do with points.  My team came third.  We got the bean bag in the basket lots of times, but the other teams got theirs in more often.

Hi, there. This morning we played chess. I played   Matt two times. Next Environment projects. My group got ready for  painting our mural.  We planned what we are going to paint - all of the things that are involved with Enrich, like P4C and debating.

After morning tea we did a technology challenge.  It was about MacGyver, and when his feet were stuck in concrete.  We had to make creations so that we could bring a chisel and a wooden hammer close to us, to chisel our way out of the concrete.  My group's didn't work.  We took too long and the bomb blew up!

After lunch I am going to spend my passion time working on my stone carving.

Hi there. Today @ Enrich we started with some chess, as usual. I played Jacob and Brianna.  I lost the first game to Jacob, but my game against Brianna ended in a stalemate.  After that we did our assessment for the term and then had morning tea.  Next we played Bulls eye.  After that we did our goal setting reflection. Now I am doing my blog.  Picadilly, circus after this.

  Today at Enrich, I started my day with some chess. Then we did passion time, I did stone carving with Darryn, I'm doing a crocodile. Then we had: morning tea.  Then did: P4C with: Katie May. After that we had lunch. Then we did Picadilly-Circus.

Today at Enrich, we started our day with some chess. I played against Darryn a couple of times.  I lost all of the games! Then we did we did our environment projects . My group went to Salford school to look at the murals and get some ideas for the mural we want to paint at Enrich. After morning tea we had a new Wilson game called bulls eye. We had four teams  we had to get all four beanbags into the hoops  1 in each. Then I did 3D drawing.

Hi everyone today at Enrich I started my day playing chess, I played against Katie and she won and I also played Emma and I lost that one to.  Then I did the 3D drawing high interest station with Darryn and we learnt that 3D stands for 3 dimensions and 3 directions and I drew a row of boxes which are 3D - it was pretty tricky to do! here is a picture of my one.

Term 3, Week 5.

Hi there. Today at Enrich I did some chess in the morning. I played Dylan. When we finished it was a stale-mate.  We did our second round of high interest stations - I did science with Alana.  We made an electrical circuit using batteries, tinfoil pie plates, pieces of cardboard tubing, wires with alligator clips and pencil leads.  We created a light bulb! My group put two leads under the glass bottle and they both glowed! It was really awesome! I figured out that the soft leads glowed and smoked more than the hard leads.

Hi there.  Today I have had a bit of a bump.  When I was playing ball tag, I slipped over on stones and hurt myself in three places.  I got a plaster on my left knee, left elbow and left hip.  My favourite thing that I did today was the high interest station. I did chemistry with Jenni, we made elephant tooth paste.  It is Jenni's last day today.  Next week Alana will be back, we will do an electric circuit with her. generators

Today @ Enrich I helped think of some Environment projects for our group.  We have decided to make the space between our building and the next building better, and more child friendly.  We thought we could paint a mural, and plant a garden and put some tables out so that we can eat out lunch out there.  I would like to paint a mural out in the carpark.  We could put an Enrich sign, a computer, a mouse and two people.  We could also paint a chessboard outside so that we could play chess with our plastic chess pieces outside.

Week 2

Today at Enrich we answered some questions from our graffiti board.  We did a mural design - I worked with Liam.  We put lots of things on it that were to do with Invercargill like the water tower, gumboots and the Waihopai river.  After morning tea we made a thing to launch a shuttlecock.  We are going to judge these soon.  Anastazia from Environment Southland came in to talk to us about the Waihopai river.  The river has lots of mud in it.  So all the things that live in the water  are suffering.  HJUKIUJHJILOMN      HNILPLIUJHYHBFV   

First day back at Enrich

Today we started with a Wilson game.  We played the Hoop game which is when you have to hold hands in your group, stay in a circle and all jump together at the same time.  I was in a group with Liam P, Liam W, Max and I.  After that, I did painting.  Today we tried to paint a lily pond just like Claude Monet.  He painted using a style called impressionism.  You had to do little sideway dabs onto the paper.  The painting was suppose to look messy and blurry.  Our new concept for this term is environment.

Today at Enrich I have done a Ten Sentence Starter reflection about my term at Enrich.

We played a game with hoops.  You have to keep your feet together at all times, then you have to get into a circle with two other people or a partner and you have to jump to the hoop without letting your hands go or taking your feet apart or falling over.  If you do any of those things you have to go back to the start again.  There are three winners. This game was to teach us about focus, self control and persisting.

Today's plan

Today at Enrich I did one of my must dos and it was current affairs with Alana.  We talked about fizzy drinks, and if the government should increase the tax on them.  We talked about how it is hard for your body to digest the sugar in the fizzy drinks.  This is a picture of a fizzy  drink can:

Hello. At Enrich we have just been doing Canstruction and now I am doing my blog. Our Canstruction is a Smurf.  Here is my smurf:

 Our cans are being stuck together by velcro and it' a lying-down wall. It will be held in the museum in Invercargill.  Then we will give all of the cans to the food bank.  

After lunch we are doing a bit of maths and art. 

Hi, everyone! At enrich the people at the top of the chess leader board are going to a chess tournament!  The chess leaderboard is where you can tell how good someone is at chess.  They are going to Dunedin by bus.  They will be back at 9pm!  We also did planning for Canstruction.  The materials we are using are cans, velcro and a type of wood.  We are now doing our must dos and picks.

My day at Enrich

Hi everyone. At Enrich I did some more passion time.   I did some more painting, this time of a rook chess piece.  Next time I want to improve mixing my colours.

In the morning today I played chess against Darryn and Max J.  I lost both games, but Darryn taught me how to finish a game.

Passion Time

Today after morning tea we did passion time.  Passion time is when you get to do something that you really want to do.  I chose painting.  I painted with lots of different colours, and Alana taught me how to blend and mix colours together.  I used an easel to hold my painting up while I worked.  I had lots and lots of fun. Next time for passion time, I think I will do some more painting with my friend Matthew.

The learning wheel

The learning wheel is about what we have done last term.  It tells you things like what I have learnt at Enrich.

Today we played leader board chess.  I played against Alana.  She taught me how to do Scholars.  Scholars is when you put someone in check mate in 4 moves!

Today at Enrich

Hi everyone.  Today we started with a game of chess.  I went to the workshop first, then I played Bede.  We didn't quite get our game finished - the music went on too soon!  Next we did talent development.  We decided on our design - we are going to make an I-pad our of cans!  After morning tea, we finished our SCAMPER.  We had one of the foam mats.  We had to use each letter of SCAMPER to change it to use the foam mat differently.  This afternoon, I learnt how to edit my photos in I-photo.  I liked to use ALL the different editing tools, especially the one that smudged peoples faces out!  Tonight is our Sharing Night - I can't wait!

Hi Daniel

You have made a great start to your first year at Enrich.  You are learning to organise your time in order to get set tasks completed.  You are so eager to engage in everything we have on offer here at Enrich.  My favourite quote from you on Friday was when you said you wanted to select all three talent development groups because they all sounded really good!  I know you will enjoy the Canstruction with Alana.  I wonder what your design will be?  Keep up the great effort Daniel.  Katie

Hi everyone,


At Enrich I like doing art.  I have done art with Darryn once and I have stuck it into my work book.  It was a water colour painting and I painted the water tower with a person standing next to it on one side and a green tree on the other side with a blue sky.  I would like to learn more about how to paint with water colours and where to find them to buy.
