Last one for the year

Hello, out there. This my last blog for the year (and, indeed, my last blog at Enrich@ILT). Yes, you say. I'm a year 5 and people finish Enrich@ILT when they're a year 6! Well, my Dad got a job in Gore and part of the contract was that we had to move to Gore. So we've bought a house and yeah. Where moving at the end of the school year.

Aim.....FIRE!!!!!!!!!

Today at Enrich@ILT, I went to Paul's Engineering session. We made Cork Launchers, however we used small cubes of wood instead. I made five cubes, each with a special traffic light coloured theme. I also made three popsicle stick missiles,  sticks taped together - green and red on the outside with yellow in the middle.

Today after Morning Tea...

Today after Morning Tea, and before blogging, I went to Paul's Engineering session. We made slingshot rockets, and my one was the worst. So I changed my one to a plane. And it was STILL the worst, landing only a foot away from me.

Next time,

Daniel

Ginny & Jenni.

Hello.

Today we met our new teacher who is taking over from Nicola.  Her name is Ginny, not to be confused with Jenni. At discovery with Paul, I learned all about decimals and prime numbers. We had to fill in a paper number chart. We had to circle all the prime numbers and we crossed out all the other numbers.

Until next time...

My Goal For Term

Shortest blog ever. My goal for this term is: to accomplish any task I set out to do.

Sunday 14 September 2014

Discovery, discovery, discovery!!

Hello, my little blog readers, who fry their brains by reading the blogs on this page (and many other pages, I'm sure). If you like disgusting things, I'm pretty sure that there's a blog on dissecting a pig eye, or something. But enough of that, time for my day.

Discovery, discovery, discovery!! Today, and indeed most of my spare time as well, is all about the finishing touches of our "Discovering Your Past" presentations. I don't think that the people with poster boards are going to get very far, as they've just stared their main presentations this week (I think), unless they take them home. And on a day like today, it's going to be a mission to get the poster board out of the building and to the car without getting them wet!!

But I am not using a poster board (thank heaven). I am using Microsoft PowerPoint and (fingers crossed) I'm hopefully the only one using it!!

Now, you are VERY NAUGHTY reading my blog and wasting your precious learning time.

Yours truly,

Daniel.

What?!! Your still here?!! I SAID GO AWAY!!!!!

Sunday 7 September 2014

PIcasso

Picasso, Picasso, Picasso!! Today after lunch, I went of to strength-based extension. I finished my Picasso head of Max. Plus, I finished first! The part that I found the hardest was thinking up the patterns to put on my face. Next week, the artist  we are going to look at is... Wassily Kandinsky... I'll fill you in next week (if I have time...)

Potraits

Hi, People of the world!!! You guys rock just because you read my blog!!!! And people who don't read my don't know they rock. Here is a snippet about the really good day at Enrich@ILT.

Well, I was early to Enrich@ILT (for once!). And after the shortest lunch in HISTORY past, I went to Katie M's Art workshop. This was my first session on art and we had to draw one of our friends's portrait Picasso style. Picasso draw his portrait abstract, which means that the drawing is not perfect, but they remind you of something or someone. I was the first person finished!!

Bye for now,

Daniel.

Rainbow Writing!!!!!!

Hello & good morning/afternoon/evening!!!

At Enrich@ILT, at 9.15am this morning, I went to Paul's Garageband workshop.

We learnt how to cut parts of a song and add things like instruments and sound effects.

During Passion Time, I did a bit of research about why our passion project became more of a fruit drink than an energy drink. The difference between a fruit drink and a fruit juice is that a juice is just plain juice on its own, whereas a drink has added products to it, like honey and natural sweeteners

New plans for term three...

Hello, my biggest fans!!!!!

Today at Enrich@ILT, the teachers  have used most of their holidays planning out term 3, so today, they put their new plans into action. I think that those plans are working PERFECTLY.

You see, in previous terms we would usually have a section with 1 teacher 1 week on something and then go to another rotation the next week and so on 'n' so on.

But this term, we are going to try something different - we are going to go to all the three rotation in one day (no stress!!)

Bye, my biggest fans, for now

Monday blog at Enrich@ILT

Hi there, you have a good taste reading my blog and all. So in return I will tell you about my day.

I came in and sat on the mat as Katie called out the roll. "Tessa" she called out. "Here!" replied Tessa. "Reina" she called again. "Here!" replied Reina and so on and so on. After the roll, we had chess. I lost to Joshua (or Josh, as he likes to be known).

After morning tea, we worked on our passion projects. Reid and I are working on making a sugar free energy drink. We surveyed students and teachers to find out what flavours people liked the most. The options were apple, orange, apple and orange mixed, pineapple or grape. You can let me know on what you prefer via posting a comment below.

Bye for now

Daniel.

READ THIS BLOG!!!

Oi, where do you think your going? Don't go of to read his blog OR her blog, read MY blog instead.

Now, I suppose I better tell you about my day. Well, it started out as a normal day, coming in, roll, and then Katie ( one of our three teachers ) mentioned these rotations that sounded really cool/interesting. The first thing that I did was with Nicola. We had to compare our selves with Lorde. that was really tricky, but fun!!

The next thing the next thing  I went to was catching-up. I finished my interview on Jackson.

The next rotation  was with Paul. we learnd about a new app that I recomend to every one. The app was called: Aurasma. With it, you can turn a 2D still picture into a 3D moving mini film. You can also make your own  Video!!

By for now,

Daniel.

Our new concept is...

Today I was late AGAIN. Something I absolutely HATE. And Mum said that I WASN'T going to be late. Today at Enrich we started off with chess.  I went don the leader board by quite a bit but I am determined to win back my place.  Our new discovery topic is "Finding out about our past".  I personally think its going to be fun.

Sunday 11 May 2014

Kia Ore every one.

Kia Ora, everyone. I'll get straight to the point. NO muckin' around.

My highlight for today was the 2nd round of Personal Devolopment. I did Renzullli and Gange's  models of giftedness.  Ganges model is way more meaty than Renzulli's model. See if you can tell the difference.

BYE BYE!!!!!!

The blog to end all blogs....

It was 2014 and it was his last blog for the 1st term...

Hi out there! You like reading my blogs don't you? No need to tell me. I know all about it. Now, READ THE BLOG BELOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:):)

Today we started with the usual havoc.  Everyone were on the computers, but it was quite a normal start to the day non the less. Just then, Katie put on the music, signaling that we should stop what we were doing, drop every thing, and go down to the mat. Katie then called the roll and asked us to sit  where we thought we worked best.

The three groups that we had to group ourselves into were: auditory learners (hearing is how they learn), visual learners (seeing is how you learn best). And last, but surely not least, kinesthetic learning ( who are hands on kind of people. tell them what to do, and they'll do it).

Now, is that enough? Yes, I think it is. So, I'll say: good bye. Good Bye!! For now, any way.

Sunday 30 March 2014

67% out of 100%!

Hello, people of the world that is not as flat as a pancake. Did you know that the word pancake is something called a compound-word? Nicola taught me that. A small bit of knowledge for today/tonight.

This morning, I did an inteligence test. I did it because our teachers wanted to see the way we learn the best. My best score was in: Naturalstic - 67% out of 100%. I never got 100 percent in anything - you would already know. :(.

Can I say thats the dreaded: END?

Thanks,

Daniel.

2nd or 3rd?

Hi there, it's my 2nd Blog this year I think... or is it 3rd? I can't remember. Now, 'round about an half-an-hour ago I was jotting down 10 curly questions (or so Katie May called them) for my partner: Jackson. Here are my 2 fav Q & A's:*

Q. Do you like cats?

A. Yes.

Q. do you have a fav soft toy?

A. No.

Now I will tell you about open and closed questions. An open question is when you ask someone something that when they answer they will reply in about 2 or 3 sentences long. A closed question is when you ask something and your answer is a 1 word answer. E.g. yes, no etc, etc.

Now, I think thats enough for today. Bye bye!!

*Question and Answer.

Sunday 23 February 2014

The first day!!

It was 2014 and it was his first blog post of the year...

Ahoy there shipmates, you be reading Daniel Foxes blog post again. Good for you.

Today at Enrich we did lots of things, like the thinkers keys. The key I learned today was the invention key. We had to design a thing that would keep dosing pupils awake and continue to learn. Most of my group made glasses that had access to the internet or gave you shocks when you stopped learning. But my idea was a microchip that you planted in your brain and made you 99% smarter than you would usually be!!

Well, thats all fokes until next week.

Daniel. :):)
